Telecom field crew wearing PPE at an active industrial work site

Safety

Safety First in Every Telecom Project

Protecting our team, clients, and infrastructure through strict safety standards and procedures.

Our Commitment

Safety is planned into every job before a single cable is pulled.

QuantumLink Telecom Ltd. operates under a documented Health & Safety Program covering every crew, site and subcontractor we work with across British Columbia and Alberta. Our program meets Canadian occupational health and safety legislation, including WorkSafeBC and Alberta OHS requirements, as well as the safety standards of the telecom carriers and general contractors we work for.

Management provides the leadership, training, supervision and equipment needed to prevent injuries, illness, property damage and environmental harm. Supervisors make sure safe work procedures are followed and keep reassessing risk as the job goes on. Every worker is expected — and empowered — to identify hazards, use the right PPE, and stop work when conditions are unsafe.

On Every Site

How we keep every site safe

Before work starts

  • Site-specific hazard assessment and Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA)
  • Tailboard meeting with the full crew
  • Equipment and vehicle pre-use inspections
  • Verification that each worker is trained and competent for the task

During work

  • Ongoing supervision and risk reassessment as conditions change
  • Required PPE for every task
  • Check-in procedures for lone workers
  • Traffic control plans for roadside and right-of-way work

After work

  • Incident and near-miss reporting, investigation and corrective action
  • Lessons learned shared across all crews
  • Regular inspections, audits and program reviews
